This sacred puja is dedicated to Lord Shani (Saturn), the dispenser of justice and karma. As depicted in the powerful imagery, Lord Shani is seated on his mount, the bull, against a backdrop of the cosmos and ringed planets.
The central part of this ritual is a traditional Homa (fire sacrifice). The image shows learned priests seated around a consecrated fire pit, making offerings of black sesame seeds, oil, and blue flowers—items that are deeply significant to Shani Dev.
